mscompress software package provides Microsoft compress.exe/expand.exe compatible (de)compressor, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mscompress
mscompress is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mscompress package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mscompress *
You will get with mscompress package name, version, architecture and description in a table
